Hi All.....

This is my first Fjord, but thought he was a little thin when I
purchased him, so when he arrived I put him on 1 qt. of endurance grain in the
morning and 1qt. in the evening with plenty of hay throughout the day....he
looks great now. My vet says to keep doing what I'm doing he looks great....I
have a little under 3 acres so he needs lots of hay....I don't try to become
confused about how and when to feed him....I just go by the way he looks and
acts........

24/7 for fjords?

Hi......"self regulate"........depends on the time of year.
Fall and
winter......turned out on pasture.......they do fine.  My older fjord
requires
additional hay/senior feed......the younger gets a flake or two in
the
evening.
Spring and summer......NO WAYYYYYYYYY!!!  LOL
Even my neighbor
noticed......"they never stop eating"  LOL
I have two mares, one an App and
one a Qt/app........they are out on pasture
24/7........eat and sleep and itch
and hang out.......over and over.
Funny fjords........Linda in WI
