Thank you! We are in FL so the pasture isn't that great but they are on grass, mostly bahaia. They were out 24/7 w/cows for a year but then we had boarders move in. They wanted them stalled at night and it didn't work to have my girls out and the boys in. So, for the past year they've been stalled at night. It's only been a couple weeks we've been back to ourselves and them being able to be out all the time. I feed coastal hay and they're getting a LOT less now they're out on the grass all the time. When I've fed better hay in the past (timothy/alfalfa) that's when we got in trouble. My mare would especially get very pushy and act like she was starving all the time, couldn't get enough of it. My vet also reprimanded me for her being fat. They are roaming 6 acres and it seems to be working. I do know they are in the sheds a good part of the time. I sure don't miss cleaning the stalls! -- Kathleen Prince [email protected] Pookie Bros.
