Regarding looking for a saddle....

In our little tack store at NCEFT
(www.nceft.org), Bits and Pieces, we have a
Sid Hill Australian saddle for
sale for about a one third of the price of a new
one. Let me know if you
would like more info on it. We have one narrower horse
at our facility and
this saddle is the only one that fits him.

"I am having a heck of a time
fitting a western saddle to my fjord..."

I had the same problem, tried
about a dozen different western saddles, ended
up with a western style
Australian saddle.  Really comfortable and very
secure going up and down
trails and my knees don't hurt after a ride.
