The whole premise of which breed of horse reacts more to a bee sting is
just...silly! Maybe it's best to move on.

Ruth,

Have to write in about the tread on Fjords and Kids. Sorry, have to disagree
with you here. I'm wondering,
have you worked with TB's, Appy's, QH's??? .....<>.....
You put the scenario out there about a bee stinging a horse, who would you
rather be on a Fjord or another breed. You said you'd take the other breed,
well... (Patti Jo)

NO, I DIDN’T SAY THAT AT ALL. If I thought the other breed’s were
superior, I’d have them instead of Fjords. I SAID a Fjord is stronger
and will jump farther and harder. That is why I don’t recommend them for
children. (not to mention their ultra stronger neck)

I have said many times that I think the Fjord horse is the best horse
there is for a mellow temperament, the best there is for safe daily
handling—we know that for a fact. Not one has ever behaved meanly
toward us in many years of handling many.

(Incidentally, we had Arabian’s before
Fjords, before that Q-horses, Saddlebred’s, Morgan, etc. Been there done
that.)

Once we found Fjords we forgot the others, no one could possibly love them
more than we do.. but I love children too and I would rather not sell
one to a child. I’m just sharing my personal perspective on what might be a
better choice for a child’s horse—an older trained pony.

Gosh, it’s nice to know there’s still some life out there in Fjord
Land...
Kudo’s to all for championing the dearest and strongest horse on earth.
