help, it appears one of my mares is foundering. I switched from pasture to hay 2 weeks ago, and found her severely lame this morning. All four seem to hurt but especially one front and one rear. I have her soaking in cold water and gave her 3 grams of bute. Is a vet call worth while? or are they just going to confirm founder and administer bute?
