Are you in MX04? This isn't the case in Flash 8:
var strlit = "myswf.swf"; my_mcLoader.loadClip(strlit, targetMC); Works fine. Also, I wouldn't name any of my variables 'target' or 'url' since these are properties of some internal classes.
