Grant, I've tested in IE6 + FPlayer8 and Opera 8.5 + FPlayer8 : " width= 1000height 600 scale noScale" in both, and in stand-along (cached file) too.
Even more: if you're accessing Stage.width and Stage.height, these props are read-only...
