I have a parent swf that loads in a series of children swfs and acts as a browser for them. Within the children swfs - there are a number of hotspot movieclips that trigger other events. I'd like to centralize the appearance of those 'hotspot' movieclips to the parent swf so that if i need to change how the icon's look i can change it once in the parent rather than in each child swf.
I thought that the best way to do this would make the hotspot clips into placeholders and use attachMovie to put the appropriate icon on it. The problem is that is appears attachMovie doesn't work if the path to the clip is in a one of the children swfs that was loaded. Is this correct? If so, is there a workaround of some sort that I can try?
