Hi:

I need help.

Background:
I have created a Flash projector file which acts as a "player" for
external swfs. In the "player", when a user selects a option from a
drop-down menu, it loads the selected external swf, through something
like: utarget.loadMovie("/swf/unit6ex.swf"). Where utarget is the
target movie in the player. The external swfs are found in the root
where the projector file exists in a sub-folder called: swf.

The Dilemma:
If you copy the entire folder to your local drive, this works
wonderfully. However, if you copy the folder to a network folder (like
on one of your company's network drives), the .exe works, however, it
will not load the external swfs.

I guess I forgot to mention that the user would download these files in
a zipped format to a folder on a network drive at their company. Then,
unzip all of the files there.
Then, users would just open the network drive folder and double-click
the .exe. The files sitting on the network drive and the user would all
be on the same domain. This is what perplexes me. Any ideas?

If it makes more sense this way, please download the zip file (~4MB)
from:
www.d-mag.org/files/AW_031306edit.zip

This file runs great when all files are on your hard drive. However,
copy it to a network drive and try to run it. No dice.
When you run it, select "Start the exercises". From the drop-down list,
choose anything in Unit 2 (the rest of the exercises are not included).
When we tried it (running it from the network folder), we only get a
grey screen. (i.e the external swf doesn't load).

Sincerely,
Loren Elks
