I think you're all just missing the point. The challenge does have any rules to what is considered a compiler. Even if you can just compile a SWF to trace "Hello World" is ultimately a success.
We've already seen C64 emulator and script to encode PNG files, so why can't a SWF compiler be created. Oh and to answer the question of "Why?"... because.
