I had a similar problem with graphics not appearing, mine being jpgs from the library that I had placed on the stage. Originally I just placed the jpg (bitmap) directly on the stage and when published they were not appearing. However when I made the jpg a group (CTRL - G), this seemed to solve the problem. No idea why though.... Btw this was on a PC.
