Remi Patriarche commented on FLEX-8:
------------------------------------
I completely agree with Alex. I'm working for a public french institution in
the educational domain. We currently use Flex 3.6 et 4.5.1 (yes we are not
late) in many GUIs on Java 6 backends. Of course we also use Maven to build all
these apps. The recent and very sudden changes from Adobe concerning Flex have
discredited the technology in the eyes of important policy makers in our
organization. Of course as a developper I want to continue to use Flex which is
a very productive RIA technology. In despite of some disagreements with its
leader, the plugin FlexMojos allowed us to integrate our Flex apps in our
industrial processes. Many people are waiting for the reaction of the
Apache-Flex community about the Maven issue because it's an absolute necessity
for all teams which are working with Java backends. To be very honnest I think
that Flex will not survive in the entreprise without a better Maven support.
> Make SDK build with Maven/Flexmojos and deploy release and snapshot artifacts
> to the Apache Maven repository
