Added auto-updater functionality. This hasnt been tested on a mac yet. Also,
it has not been skinned properly yet.
Carol, can you please test the auto-updater functionality on your mac?
Also, I borrowed code from this project:

which is under the Apache v2.0 license. What is the correct way to provide
attribution to this project in our codebase?
