We're using this to avoid the hard-coded full path:
within the properties node:
<flex.version>4.5.0.17689</flex.version>
then the themes:
<themes>
<theme>${settings.localRepository}/com/adobe/flex/framework/
framework/${flex.version}/configs_zip/themes/Spark/spark.css</theme>
</themes>
