It has to be recomputed because you could have previously ran the same installation process with optimizeRsls=true. May be we can update it only if an original artifact has been found, but as backup is optional this could lead to potential problems. If it is proven to be harmless I would leave it there.
I'm not really sure it is exactly the same as the original, I don't know the swc file format well enough to check it... do you?
