I just did a quick check (
http://sourceforge.net/p/jburg/news/2012/08/jburg-in-asc-20-and-apache-falcon/)
so it seems that they are indeed related. From what I got on the Apache
Flex Mailinglist both have the same initial code-base. When Adobe dropped
Flex they stripped out all the POC code for building MXML components and
continued concentrating on ActionScript. Falcon was donated to Apache a few
weeks ago and seems to be in a state that still contains the MXML support.
The Guys from Adobe that were donated to Apache are currently working on
merging some of the ASC2.0 updates back into Falcon.

Falcon will definitely be the path Apache Flex is going. Currently most
work on Flex is related with fully implementing MXML support in Falcon. In
parallel a lot of work is being put into FalconJS which should allow to
compile Flex applications into HTML/CSS/JavaScript instead of Flash
bytecode.

So now I have to say that "No" currently noone is working on integrating
this into Flexmojos, but "Yes" we are working on a Maven Plugin that will
be able to utilize at least Falcon. But that will take quite some time till
it's finished.
