Greetings All!!! I have written about <subj.> to Edwin some time ago and he has told my it is on the TODO list. Today i have downloaded v1.2.0 and read that list. There are in fact som questions which i (as an average user, IMHO) would like to answer:
ISO images? Not realy since they need files to be already on the disk. mkisofs cannot run in a pipe between tar and cdrecord. One may use images but it needs extra space which not always can be found. Besides iso buring can be done after flexbackup finishes. Full backups? any level? Of course. In my letters to Edwin i have suggested treating cd tracks like files on a tape. The only difference then is capacity. iso type with dirtree copy? It means as i understand running mkisofs instead of tar. Yes it is waste of space since no compression can be applied. be able to split archives? Well, this can be tricky.
