Hi John You hit the nail on the head with that one. I am using FreeBSD 5.1 and tried to backup a Redhat Linux 8 box, and got that error. I used the same string to another FreeBSD 5.1 box on another remote site, and it worked fine. So yeah, its a Linux issue, any idea's what the problem could be? Is there a way to get the OS to support the -E attrib?
