Hi, Well there could many guidelines. Try to read the Flex documentation to get an understanding on Flex components and Flex environment.
Search Flex coder archives for discussions on different RIA frameworks, like cairngorm or ARP.. Ali's & Steven's book "Developing Rich Client with Macromedia Flex" is also a good place to start.... Don't forget Macromedia Flex Devnet: http://www.macromedia.com/devnet/flex/?promoid=home_dev_flex_032904, it provides lots of tutorials and articles...
