Yeah,

If you ask me, that is also possible, if you make custom form in Outlook. 
Custom Form embeds a Flash application. So now Outlook and Flex app can 
communicate(two-way) using LocalConnection....

I have done something similar in past....

Well, I was thinking the goal was to have interaction between the Flex
Application and Outlook in both ways not only Flex > Outlook.
