Just programatically combine the two data sources. The specifics depend on the exact data types of the sources. You can concatenate arrays for example.

One will be from a small array in the mxml, the other will be from the database and dependant on what the user has entered, but they must appear in the same combobox. I've been looking at hierarchical data providers and GroupCollections, but just can't see how to fit it together for my use. Thanks,
