Thanks, everyone, for the flood of responses on this one ;-). I figured out that if I took out the CDATA stuff that gets dumped in there by Flex Builder, the wonky alignment doesn't happen. You have to escape special characters to have them read as markup, but I can live with that. I ask again: does anyone know why this happens? Thanks; Amy
