Does this happen even when the object height/width is set?
I suppose a ValidateNow() could make a difference...

Even more oddness.
If I pass the id of a page element that is present, but not currently
displayed (different view stack, other tab) the print job silently fails as
well.

Someone wanna back me up here ?
