I had trouble with FlexBuilder 2 and RDS, when Dreamweaver MX04 and FlexBuilder 1.5 RDS worked fine. I am using IIS6 and all my websites use host headers. With that being the case, there was no way to resolve the external IP, because all of the IIS websites were looking for domain names.
When I setup a test website in IIS without a host header, I used my external IP to connect to RDS in FlexBuilder 2 and it connected fine. Therefore, FlexBuilder 2 definitely wants an ip address only. I hope this helps...I struggled with this for days.
