In my delegates, I am using this syntax:

this.service = ServiceLocator.getInstance().getService( "testService" );

I note that you use getRemoteObject?

 I'm sort of stuck at the moment; I think, I'm missing something here...        
                            
 In my Services.mxml I configure a RemoteObject with the id 'testService':
