I'm still learning how I should be designing custom components and encapsulating methods/variables appropriately.
I have a custom component that pops up and just adds/removes items from two arraycollections. After this is done, I'd like to close it and reflect the changes on the main application page. I'm just wondering how to access variables from custom components. Is this good practice or should these variables be initialized in the main application first?
