So I made some coding changes on the backend and the error went away.
Here is the coding change I made to the service that the httpservice
was receiving the xml from:

response.setDateHeader("Expires", System.currentTimeMillis());
response.setHeader("Pragma", "cache");
response.setHeader("Cache-control", "public");
