[flexcoders] stamping an expiration date on cached files

Hi,

My App reloads every 5 sec a XML file. 
How do I avoid from loading the cached one? Alternatively, if my line 
of thought goes the right way, how to I control/set an expiration date 
to the xml file created in the cache directory?
