It might be that if you set up those listeners in MXML, it is generating the wrong code. Can you make a mini-test case?

There are a couple listening on the stage, but they all expect an event:Event parameter. Like I say, even when the code bases are the same, it does't work on my computer, but does work on a colleagues. I've tested it on a colleague's computer (which works fine) and the only difference between our dev boxes is the fact I'm running Vista and he's running XP.
