Seems to me that besides the limitations, Flex builder wins hands-down against just using the SDK, if only from the benefits of having a build and debugging environment that doesn't rely on a mass of hand-cranked scripts, so from that perspective (no pun intended) alone, the cost of Flex builder is a no-brainer for anyone doing development professionally. I am vaguely aware that there are alternatives out there that support Flex development and use the SDK, but I haven't really investigated them. If there is some Flex Builder killer IDE out there, then tell us! One thing's for sure - whatever the limitations, Flex Builder is a whole lot faster and easier to develop with than just the SDK alone. I rarely use the design view these days either.
