When the Flex SDK goes open-source -- Real Soon Now -- you'll be able to
get the 'swfdump' tool which can produce a disassembly of compiled AS3
bytecode into readable instructions for the virtual machine (push, pop,
add, call, etc.). But it's not a decompiler -- it can't produce AS3 or
MXML source code.

I didnt mean to reply to sherif - i meant the original user. But the
decompiler wouldnt be seeing MXML files - as mxml is compiled down to
actionscript in a precompile mechanism (before the swf compilation even
begins)

I don't think this even entirely makes sense

I think Sherif means that there are no AS3 decompilers (yet).
I'm noy sure if the OP is expecting mxml files!

you can't do that, SWF file for Flex/AIR will
not be decompiled.

What has that to do with Open Source?

Is there ever a legitimate reason for doing
that?
