I've downloaded the santdalone version of FlexBuilder to check this out and
you were right, the resources related to the project remain open which is
actually a bug.

Since Eclipse is free, I'd recomend you to download version 3.3.1.1 and the
plug-in version of FlexBuilder (which is easy to install). That's working
fine for me.

I've also posted a bug in Adobe Bug System. If you want to take a look at it
its id is FB-12214 and you can browse it here:
https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FB-12214.

If you have any suggestions please let me know (like uploading a
screenshot).
I hope they consider this as highly important, since many people close their
projects on FlexBuilder to improve performance of their IDEs; which is
probably your case.
