The code looks cleaner when you set MX as the default, but some things in the design mode no longer work. Look at the custom view of properties for a Button, for example. No Icon, On Click etc. Tim

Even then I think 99% of the time the most used namespace with be the one for MXML. It seems logical for the most used namespace to be the one that's the default.
