It didn't come up because it fit into the category of "out of sight, out of
mind". This only became an issue because the FLEX-150 runs at a max sampling
rate of 48K and at that sampling rate with a 9 KHz IF, the panadapter is skewed
in respect to the VFO center frequency. Also the DDS "leakage" through the QSD
in the FLEX-5000 and FLEX-3000 is less than the FLEX-1500.

Just for info, this is present on the F3000 also. If I deliberately set
the IF such that the LO is in the passband I can hear it, but the
recovery time is faster so it sounds more like a 'ping' than a carrier.
It's more noticeable on the 1500 as the correction is slower.
As I never use a BW more than 2.7k on any mode, I just set the IF to
3000Hz and have no problems anywhere.

I wonder if this has come up now due to the Errata sheet that came with
V2.0. Item 6 talks about adjusting the IF, but I don't remember earlier
documents mentioning it. It could be that most folks didn't realize you
could change the IF, and have made adjustments without knowing the
effect of moving the LO into the passband.
