Steve Hicks and everyone at the office have done a fantastic job of
putting together the first real processes at Flex internal to Flex which
allow easy tracking and issue management using fantastic tools. Flex
has bought into a process which is very interesting and based on the
kind of collegiality that is very important to me. It is not a top down
but a group hug with overall direction set by policy makers and market
force assessment but then the engineers get to score the cost. It is
enabled with some really neat tools. I think many of you that know me
will understand that this is new to me. Nevertheless, I find it utterly
liberating in a surprising thing to me. The fog of "what to do next" is
gone and the outcome with metrics is fantastic because the metrics
literally forced the acquisition of necessary tools, personnel, and
process including necessary testing for each and every request/bug
fix/new item/etc. I never thought I would hear myself say it, but it is
helpful in the extreme.
