When you move the Flex 1500 USB cable to a different USB port on
the same PC, you're likely to have a problem when you start PowerSDR..
You could have a large, noisy hump on the panadapter 9khz down from the
dial frequency. You could have an apparent dead receiver. Or you could
have a sample rate error message box.
When you move to a different USB port on the PC, a USB HUB port or
a different USB HUB port, the active FLEX sound card device number
changes.. i.e. 'Microphone (1- FLEX-1500)' can become 'Microphone (3-
Flex-1500)'
When PowerSDR starts and the database points to a Flex sound card
device that is different than the current Flex sound card device,
PowerSDR selects a random sound device ( i.e. MS sound mapper, VAC,
hardware sound card, etc. )...
You can recover from this dilemma without doing a database reset.
All you have to do is stop PowerSDR, go to SETUP>AUDIO>PRIMARY and
select the current active Flex sound card device. Then start PowerSDR.
You will need to exit PowerSDR before your database is updated.
It is possible that a future Flex 1500 firmware or driver upgrade
could cause a similar problem.
