Thanks Bill, this is good info.

You need a pair of VSPE ports for PSDR to talk to DDUT You need a pair of VSPE ports for DDUT to talk to Commander You need a pair of VSPE Ports for WinWarbler to have PTT control of PSDR So here is where it gets interesting. Most logging and digital software was originally written for hardwire serial ports that only have numbers maybe up to 8 maybe 10. But DDUT and PSDR can use numbers up to 60 or more. So When you create your VSPE ports, make the pairs a high number (30-50) and a low number (1-16) (approximately) In PSDR you need a Cat control Port (I use 17<>27), 17 is the port number of PSDR Cat control, and 27 is DDUT Radio Cat port. Now you need a pair of VSPE port to go from DDUT to Commander. So I use (19<>5) DDUT RCP1 is set to 19, and Commander's Primary Port # is 5. At this point, you should now be able to communicate PSDR vfo/mode info via DDUT to Commander. Commander should now display your VFO, mode data. Now to configure WinWarbler. for CW and Digital modes CW first, depending on what form of cw keying you choose, you must go to the CW tab and either select an actual outboard keyer such as the WinKey or use WW's internal keyer If WinKey, assign the port that WinKey uses to the Winkey panel of Keying. If you choose to use WW's internal keying, Select the Xcvr Crt SW Test that out to see if you can send CW Now digital There are two parts to digital, PSK and RTTY PSK doesn't require a port per se as it's really an audio mode, using the correct sideband is the key. RTTY does require a com port because in my setup, I'm using WW's implementation of MMTTY which in my setup requires the MMTTY setup TX tab to have com 8 as my PTT port In my VSPE setup, I have ports <22<>8> Port 22 in PSDR Cat control tab where PTT Control panel is enabled for port Com22 and RTS enabled. You won't ever have enough virtual ports, as you add other devices etc. So set up pairs for equipement which generally only accept low com port number and Software which generally will take high numbers. for instance serial port 2 through 4 and then start your virtual ports like vspe 5<>19 6<>20 7<>21 8<>22 etc etc Hope this helps and gives you some ideas If I made any typos, sorry I'm also sending this to Steve and the Flex list so if someone has better ideas or suggestions they can advise. -- --------------------------- I installed a skylight in my apartment...The people who live above me are furious! -- Steven Wright --------------------------- Bill H. in Chicagoland webcams at http://BIGDELL:8080 weather at http://hhweather.webhop.org _______________________________________________ Flexedge mailing list [email protected] http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexedge_flex-radio.biz This is the FlexRadio Systems e-mail Reflector called FlexEdge.
