...via the sound card.  In other words, I suspect you could use the KX-3 with 
PowerSDR in the same way you could use an SDR-1000.  If I'm not mistaken, the 
CAT commands are even sufficiently similar to make things work.

If you ask me (and nobody has, really) this makes a pretty attractive package.  
Small, battery operated, display and knobs for when you just want to get on the 
air quickly to talk to somebody... panadaptor display for when you want to sit 
down and work the band.  Sorta like the best of both worlds.

Having said that, I *did* just order a Flex-1500 for summertime fun.  So, I'm 
not exactly "hanging by my thumbs" waiting for those other folks to deliver.
