It will not be recognized as a VU5K or operate as such.  You should use it as 
an external transverter.

I still have the 2m transverter from my F1K.  Will this xvtr interface (and
function) installed in the 5K and be able to be treated by the software similar 
to the current xvtr, or will it be recognized just like any external xvtr?  
Obviously, I would have to make custom cables, etc.  I would love to hear from 
anyone that may have done this configuration already.

I would like to use this xvtr to drive my microwave xvtrs.  I don't need
432 or the high power of the new xvtr.
