I have been using Eterlogic's VSPE from day one of owning a flex radio.

It works great and it is free.

When you start it on a 64-bit system it bugs you to go buy it, but despite the nag-screen it works flawlessly.

I especially like the splitter-ports. This is a virtual com port that shares a regular COM port or a regular virtual com port. So, I will make a regular virtual com port for PowerSDR to use for CAT control, and then make a splitter port that points to it.

Then I can have more than one cat control program open at the same time communicating with PowerSDR without any sharing errors.
