Yes
But!!!!!
There would have been protesters picketing outside his lab saying that the light from these bulbs would burn their eyes.
The candle makers union would protest the loss of their jobs.
The conservationists would bemoan the loss of electrons.
Four government panels would convene to discuss how to tax the bulbs.
and
Someone would demand that Edison switch to fluorescent and make the bulbs in China!

Sometimes getting new things means we have to take them as (and when) they
come. Personally, I like being part of something that's developing. I look
forward to telling my grandchildren how primitive PowerSDR 2.2.3 was with
only a single panadaptor, limited filters, etc., compared to what you kids
have now. The radio I own does everything I was told it would do when I
bought it. I was told that in the future it would do more. In the year and
few months since I owned it, it has. That's part of what keeps it
interesting for me. I have seen significant improvements coming at me as
recently as this week. And it didn't cost me a single dime.

I get a real thrill when I spend an entire day screwing around with DDUtil
and VSPMgr and finally get my logging program to record the radio data. Oh,
I guess it could have been made easy with full integration so that all I had
to do was check a single box to get everything working. That wouldn't be
much fun though.

As for the company, I don't think I have seen any company as open and honest
with its plans as Flex Radio Systems has been. I have never seen a company
answer e-mails about feature requests, support issues, or whatever the
communication is withing a couple of hours - even on weekends. If something
were to happen to my radio today, I would replace it with another Flex
tomorrow.

I am far from being disappointed. I am excited and encouraged.
