As near as I can see, the real differences between the 6500 and 6700 are as follows:
6700 has faster processing power; but how does that affect my use of the transceiver. Is the higher processing power required for the additional 4 receive slices. 6700 has 8 receive slices, 6500 has 4 receive slices 6700 has receive into two meters 6700 has a more accurate frequency reference if you don't get the GPS disciplined option. Not sure of any other differences. It seems to me that the 6700 offers few real enhancements over the 6500. Pretty pricey cost increase for the above items.
