I use my Flex-1500 for Frequency Measuring Tests by running in CWU mode, IF= 0 Hz, and analyze the 600 Hz tone with Spectrum Lab. I have made a spreadsheet to calculate the DDS offset correction for VFO-A, and can accurately measure (non-doppler-shifted) carriers to well within 1 mHz.
Now I'm trying to use the MultiRX VFO-B to measure a 2nd carrier within the Flex-1500's bandpass / Panadapter width. When I measure a precision RF signal, and increment the VFO-B in 1 Hz steps, I do not always get a 1 Hz step in the ~600 Hz tone output. Sometimes it skips a step, and then for the next step it increments by 2 Hz. Can anyone explain how the MultiRX tuning is done, and why the VFO-B reading can sometimes be off by a Hz?
