I don't know the answer to that but since you mentioned SWL, I just
have to say how pleased I was last night tuning around the various

a set of high-fidelity bookshelf speakers was a real treat for me !
Sure sounds different from my ole SB-313 days 35 years ago.

I agree that PowerSDR and my SDR-1000 together make a superb, high fidelity HF receiver. Clean, super clean, with full frequency response if the transmitting station, your audio amp, and speakers are up to the task. The best!

There are some serious issues with Synchronous AM (SAM) reception, though.

The SAM detector in 2.3.5 loses lock _way_ too easily. Perhaps this is a result of listening to AM ham operators (I am one, too, so this is not a criticism of them) who want quick lock-up on off-frequency stations when operating break-in.

But the detector loses lock now in deep selective fades and tries to lock up on the strongest audio sideband component. It does the same on DSBRC and SSBRC (like WBCQ runs) all the time. So, because of its current "easy lock and unlock" parameters, it fails to do one of the main things that a SAM detector should do: keep locked during fades, selective fades, and reduced carrier reception.

So I second (or third) the motion to create a user selection that will not allow the SAM detector to unlock so easily, and also an option to _not lock at all_ on carriers more than, say, 40 Hz from center.

With my best,

Kevin, WB4AIO.
