I use a Elecraft KPA-500 with my 5000a. It has never given me any problems and cannot be overdriven as it faults out.
Also it has great filtering and autoband switching. If you use DDUTIL it can set the drive level for each band automatically. One of the cool things about the Elecraft is that it ranges from 160-6 meters. I know of no other amp in this price class ($2k) that has all of these features.
