I had BAD issues on 17m and 75m, with my homemade OCF for 80 through 6m. I put an Ugly Balun directly under the 4:1 Balun of the OCF and then placed a Balun Designs 1:1 Max Choke where the feed line enters the house and my office. The model is a 1115du. Handles 5kw.
Total cost? Less than 100$ and no more RF ingress. http://www.hamuniverse.com/balun.html http://www.balundesigns.com/servlet/the-63/balun-designs-1-cln-1-Isolation/Detail Regards -- Richard A Clafton | the brITish guy | W5\G7EIX RIROC - Hosting - Development - Technology http://www.riroc.com | [email protected] "Jack of all trades, master of none, though often better than the master of one." -----Original Message----- From: Flexedge [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Dan Parsons Sent: Saturday, December 22, 2012 4:26 PM To: Robert Costa Cc: Flexedge; Flex Radio List Subject: Re: [FlexEdge] Suggestions I had the exact same problem with my Flex 5000 setup and had great success with the T-4-500 line isolator from Radio Works. I'm using it with a Butternut HF9V vertical. Everyone's RF situation is different so I can't say for sure if it will fix your problem, but it made a night and day difference for me.
