The initial software architecture for local LAN access precludes it from
traversing a router or leaving it's local subnet - it communicates
*intra* IP network only. The remote or WAN access capabilities that will
be provided later will be engineered to handle all of the necessary
requirements for operating on the Internet including session initiation,
security and*inter* IP network capabilities. Then you will be able to
use the radio over a VPN. As you noted, there will be several
engineering challenges to work out in order to ensure proper operation
for streaming display, audio and radio "command & control" data across
multiple IP subnets due to many factors, of which data path
characteristics, such as BW, jitter and latency are just a few.

Somehow I think that this has been answered before; but, I can't

The video was quite impressive...it looks like I can receive
anywhere...at
my office, on vacation, on the moon! If I can transmit too, I can
operate
from a location such as Cozumel or Bonaire without having to take a
lot of
equipment with me! Alas, I doubt that operating in this manner will
qualify me as a DX station....darn.
