I had seen a new app that was described as follows:

I do enjoy operating my Flex radio REMOTELY. I use both (one at a time, of course!) the free apps LOGMEIN or TEAMVIEWER. These give me the needed visual access to
the computer (screen) that is running PowerSDR.

For the audio, I have been using SKYPE. While this has proven to be reliable, it has
two issues:
- It has a severe roll-off of the audio frequencies above 1 to 2 Khz.
- There is a very noticeable DELAY of the audio, as it passes through the system.

RemAud is lauded to have a lot less audio latency. Plus, it has a PTT function, which
means that one can remotely set up the radio to operate, then the remote app
(either TeamViewer or LogmeIn, as examples) can then be closed down. Once the remote radio is set up, there is a minimized need to view and control the radio; At that point, all one needs is the audio paths (to and from the remote radio site) and the PTT function. -As a result, it appears that RemAud will fill this need; -The yield is two-fold: Lower audio latency and lower bandwidth needs, if this is a consideration!

One can download the app and view the instructions from either of the two links above.

At this point, I have downloaded the remote audio (VOIP) app on two computers. I am able to get a CONNECTION between the two computers. (The HOST and CLIENT apps are
connected...)

- I can hear the Flex's RECEIVE AUDIO on my laptop, connected to my LAN via wifi.
- I can make the Flex's PowerSDR go to transmit mode
- I am unable to get my audio to be coupled to the VAC now in place

In other words, the app does indeed seem to work! I still am sensing a good deal of audio latency, but it is noticeably LESS than what I normally have with SKYPE. -But, I am not able to couple the audio from my laptop to the computer that is running
PowerSDR!

The computer that is running my Flex-5000a and PowerSDR 2.5.3 is a "possible
suspect," here; It is an older HP Pavilion, with a 2 Ghz Intel CPU, with 2 GB of RAM.

I am using VAC, bit it is not the current version; I believe it is version 1.09. (Whatever
it is, it is the version just before the problematic ".10" one.)

If at all possible, I would like to see some "dummy examples" on how this
obviously fine app is to be set up.

This app appears to be a major step forward for those of us who like to remotely
access our radios. It has a lot lower overhead or demands, compared to using
SKYPE for the audio path! Plus, we'd not have to suffer the VERY low audio
bandwidth when Skype is used.

So: Any help, please? (Again, a set of "dummy setup examples" would be the
very best, showing what would be needed, plus a description of the logic behind
the possible settings.)

An expanded operator instructions might also be handy. -While not totally intuitive,
the controls do function just fine, once one gets used to the possibilities.

Very 73, and THANK YOU to DB3CD for the fine app!!!
