I bit the bullet and paid for the 64bit version of VSPE and my only
regret is that I didn't do it sooner. Not only does it work, but when
installed as a service it just stays there and you can forget about
it. You can stop the service and experiment with the non-service part
to change/improve the configuration file and the re-start the serve.

Since it doesn't mind multiple applications opening the same com port
you don't get hurt by programs that are too lazy to release a port
when they go away!

On top of that it has a pile of features that I am still experimenting with!

In summary - the BEST $25 I ever spent! (Not including first date with XYL)!
