Just my two cents.

Would be happy to have the radio poll Flex for updates, cache them, and present
me with the option to deploy them (maybe a message on the front panel display?)
I plan on my 6000 being capable of Internet access. There may be some users who
choose not to, though (data caps, security concerns, availability of service,
etc.) that could probably be served by allowing an update through a USB stick.
Updated files can be downloaded "safely" and delivered to the 6000 for
installation, perhaps when the radio is booted up with a valid stick connected?

Those would probably be the two ways I would consider updating the 6000. No
CD/DVD, please. As for SmartSDR, I'm pretty sure the Flex website will be fine
for all. I'm planning on having the client software on at least two PCs, one
netbook and one desktop. Looking forward to the day when the iPhone version
hits, too!
